Legumes
Snake beans, string beans, and winged beans, are a common sight in local markets; they are eaten more as a main dish. Dried beans, on the other hand, are used less as a main dish and more as an ingredient in desserts, soaked to make sprouts, as is the case with mung beans; or ground (soya) to make tofu. Peanuts are sold raw, steamed, or roasted.
