Moth Larvae
So much more abundant than their butterfly counterparts, moth larvae come in a wide variety of colours, shapes, and sizes. Various modes of camouflage and mimicry help protect them from being readily devoured by birds and beasts.
Meanwhile, many larvae are devastatingly destructive... as evidenced by defoliated canopies and carpets of frass on the forest floor.
