Butterfly Larvae
As ‘juicy’ as butterfly larvae are, only a few species are eaten in Cambodia
--those of the 'Banana Skipper' (Erionota thrax thrax) and the illusive 'Moth Butterfly' (Liphyra brassolis), among them. Cambodians prefer to retreat from caterpillars, instead. Indeed, most everyone is afraid of them--and thankfully so; for without caterpillars this country would be void of the many beautiful colours provided by their butterflies.
